Frustrations

Our scanner/printer has not been working for months despite my begging Rob to fix it. He spent four hours in the past week to get it up and working, including downloading new software and installing it, and then concluding that the old software was interfering with the new software, then searching in the basement for the old software, finding it, running uninstall and still not getting it to work. I told him screw it, I want a working scanner. Buy a new one if you have to.
So he bought a new scanner/copier. Tried to set it up. And it won't work. He thinks . . . the software on the computer is interfering with the scanner. So he has to uninstall everything. Again.
I am ready to tear my hair out from sheer frustration.
He has been working long hours, including going in on his day off, trying to bump up his income, and the girls are complaining that they never see him. As new guy/low man on the totem pole he is, of course, working the entire Memorial Day weekend. It's as bad as when he was working at CompUSA. He is also clearly in the dump-and-run mode. The house is a mess.
The girls are maddening to cook for. I can't figure out healthy foods that they will deign to eat for dinner.
All kinds of end-of-the year activities are keeping me from getting to karate class.
Flat tire on the bike today. And bicycle grease smeared all over the sleeves of my spring coat.
I have gained back half of the weight I lost.

Date: 2008-05-20 04:13 pm (UTC)I lot depends on the other software, I'm afraid -- at one point some pdf support programs/coding could mess things up .. and I had a perfectly good scanner stop working on me because Miscrosoft upgraded something automatically -- something that *could not be uninstalled* ... they of course insisted it was all fixed in Vista, but then I'd need more memory and etc.
Good luck with all.

Good luck!
