The scanner is up and running. Hurrah! You can click on any of the pictures to see it closer up.

The title of this first card is a reference to my favorite poem in all the world, Yeat's The Two Trees. The ravens he speaks of in the poem have come to represent depression for me. I went back and forth as to whether this card is a "Committee Card" (something inside of me) or a "Council Card" (something archetypal). I have tentatively decided (for now) that it is a Council Card, but in fact it may be a bridge card between the two suits.

The Ravens of Unresting Thought - Council Suit
The Ravens of Unresting Thought
I am the One whose thoughts circle ceaselessly, in restlessness and darkness. I gaze into the bitter glass to see what is reflected there. All I see within turns to despair, yet I do not flinch away.

The Bearer of Burdens
The Bearer of Burdens - Committee Suit
I am the One who is dependable, who bears the unbearable weight. I keep moving forward steadily through the desert that no one else can cross. I carry all that I need with me using my own inner strength. I can carry the burdens of others as well as my own.

Here's one to honor one of my favorite authors. It is unusual because I use words on this card, which as a rule I think I will want to avoid when making soulcollaging cards. But this first paragraph is so famous that I couldn't resist using it. (I used the Jane Austen font, which is based upon her handwriting.) These are the table and chair she used when writing her novels.

Jane Austen
Jane Austen - Community suit
I am One who is keenly observant of human nature, who uses words with economy, wit and precision. I tell tales that end happily, but without being blind to the follies and foibles of others. I supported myself by my pen, and my works will live for the ages.

Hey, I have the image that you used on the ravens card!

I am fascinated by the soulcollaging cards. I keep speculatively eyeing the stacks and stacks of magazines I have sitting around, but I have to remember that I have no type for another craft-type project.

Those are amazing!!! And your descriptions are incredible too. It seems silly, and overly obvious to say, but wow, these really, really fit you so perfectly- Bearer of Burdens, Jane Austen, you are really tapping into yourself here.

I do feel bad about the Ravens, though. I adore ravens and crows myself. I believe I'd have a crow as one of my chakra animal companions... perhaps I should get going on doing this myself!! I am stunned at how little attention and time I've given to myself the last few months, I need to turn that around this summer!
