Delia just awoke me, racked by nightmares. Took her temperature and it is AGAIN 105.7. I talked with the hospital and they don't need her to come back unless she doesn't respond to Tylenol. We're out of it (and it's the drug of first choice for fevers this high), so Rob is about to get into the car and go out and get more Tylenol. Fortunately, we have a 24 hour pharmacy nearby. The nurse will check back with us at 7:30 a.m. or so.

Scary to have a fever that high, especially for someone who's not a little kid any more. (I don't know much about it, it just seems to me that adults' and semi-adults' bodies are generally better at temperature regulation.) I hope the Tylenol helps.

I also hope that your job and Rob's have policies that permit you to use sick time when your kids are sick. If not, I think you can make a justifiable case for not being well enough to work after having been awake all night.

Peg, I just got off work and will be up for a while. Is there anything I can do to help? Feel free to call my cell if you still have the number.

Peg, fill the tub with cold water and have her go in it. That temperature has to go down. (I feel for you. I hate when my son gets a fever.)

I hope that things are significantly improved by now, and you can tell the nurse so in about an hour.

Cold baths? Or lukewarm ones, if she won't tolerate a cold one?

Rectal Tylenol?

Do you want me to check in with you this morning??

Heck, I'm going to violate my own standards and check in with you. Sorry if I wake you...

Ooooooh, poor baby girl. :( That's a horrible fever.

I hope it's better by the time you read your comments.
