A lot of more expensive schools also meet "full financial need." That doesn't usually mean that they'll need your real need, but it does give you a head start... so when your girls apply for schools, don't necessarily be put off by an expensive price tag. I know a number of kids who went to Reed, one of the most expensive private schools out there, that actually saved money compared to their state university - I was one of them! - because of the better financial aid packages they got.
