Yes, well you see Fiona is convinced that if she shows her teeth, she will die. This started a year before she got her braces. I am reliably informed that it is a Teenage Thing and will eventually pass.

I have a difficult time reconciling the clearly joy-filled, vibrant woman in these photographs with the worried woman who sometimes writes in this journal. There is so much happiness, and pride, and love for your girls that just exudes from you on screen.

By which I mean to say that while you may feel low and dark and afraid much of the time, you certainly don't look low or dark or afraid in these photos, clearly surrounded by friends and family.

Everytime I see a picture of Fiona I have this feeling that I've seen or met her somewhere before, but I think it's probably just owing to the startling genetic mimcry that makes you and her and Delia all look so much alike and yet not.
