If you'd like to order Girl Scout cookies, please leave a comment on this entry by noon today. The money raised by cookie sales will help Delia's troop take a trip to Washington DC. Cost is $3.50 a box.

I'd only thought of doing cookie sales locally, but [livejournal.com profile] johnridley said he'd send a PayPal payment to buy some boxes, so that they could be donated to a food shelf. I think that's a brilliant idea (Thanks, John!). Why not support Delia's troop AND make your contribution for decreasing worldsuck for the day? Any other takers? If so, please leave a comment at the post I've linked to above (rather than here). Note: I'd appreciate it if you'd cover the paypal fees, which are 2.9% plus 30 cents. So whatever amount you want to send, divide by .971 and add 30 cents.

1 box: $3.90
2 boxes: $7.50
3 boxes: $11.11
4 boxes: $14.71
5 boxes: $18.32
6 boxes: $21.93
7 boxes: $25.53
8 boxes: $29.14
9 boxes: $32.44
10 boxes: $36.35

Send the PayPal payment to pegkerr A T comcast D O T net. Be sure to specify that you are ordering cookies for making a DONATION, and include your LJ handle in the message when you send the payment, so we'll know who to thank! Delia appreciates your support!

Forgot to post on the last lj - been a bit busy - but we'd like two boxes of Samoas and one of thin mints. Just email me how to get you the money, etc.

Thanks,
D

We'll let you know, once the cookies are delivered.

Would you mind please repeating this comment on the previous post, just so I can keep track of the orders all at the same place? Thanks!

Oddly enough, the answers don't turn out quite exactly the same if I multiply by .029 vs dividing by .971. For the smaller quantities, the differing answers round to the same number but, for instance, if I went whole hog and bought 10 boxes, the difference is $1.05 extra by multiplying, but $1.09 by dividing. Have I lost my marbles?? What am I doing wrong, here?

*laughs* I can't pretend to know, but don't worry about it. If we're a few cents off, not a problem.

I did some maths, and I think it's the smaller value which is correct. :)

I'm not sure where you're getting that calculation for the fees. Shouldn't it be:

([amount to send] x 1.029) + 0.30

For the entire amount (cookies + fees)?

See, this is why it's Rob rather than me who helps the girls with math homework . . .

Well it wouldn't be fair if you got to be great at helping them with EVERYTHING. ^^
