A very nice picture of Fiona (lying down on the blanket) and me at the May Day picnic, taken by [livejournal.com profile] barondave.

Good heavens, that's quite a bit more cleavage than I ordinarily display.

(THAT will undoubtedly make everybody click the link)

See the rest of [livejournal.com profile] barondave's great May Day pictures here and here. I'm glad to see the pictures, although they make me even more keenly sorry I missed the parade. I particularly get a kick out of the dungbeetles.

Right after that I heard a funny news story about some guy who was researching dungbeetles and the way they fight. They are far more interesting then one might suspect. It was quite fascinating.

Glad you liked the pictures. The parade seemed shorter this year, but was still a solid hour (plus Free Speech, which I didn't stay for). I took other pictures of you, Fiona and Delia, and just picked the best overall. My favorite shot of Fiona (drawing a tarot card from Sharon) is a lousy shot of Delia..

It looks (based on the order of the pictures) as though you were there for the Sun Ceremony, right? I seem to remember that being a particular favorite part of yours in years past, so if you were indeed there for it I'm glad.

But in the confident expectation of it leading to a video of Rick Astley.

Does this mean you didn't go to the mission reunion (which was the time conflict, as I recall) or that you DID go, hence why you missed the parade? Looks like you had a nice picnic, at least. I still want to come out for this event some year - it always sounds so neat.

We did go to the mission reunion, which is why we missed the parade. The parade started at 1:00, the reunion was noon to 2:00 (and then we had to drive a half hour to get to Powderhorn Park, which is why we missed the parade entirely), and the Tree of Life Ceremony was at 4:00.

And yes, I would just love it if you could come see it sometime--and bring the kids. It's one of the best things that happens in Minneapolis all year.
