pegkerrAn interesting article about Tolkien scholars searching for "legitimacy" in academe.
I've certainly noted the tension between the academic and fannish impulse in approaching Tolkien. I see both sides of this myself, as a recovering scholar and a rabid fan. I like to read both types of works.
