One of those nights
Jun. 17th, 2004 06:38 amDelia burst into tears when I told her what was for dinner (pork stir fried with peaches and sugar snap peas). Fiona broke something (many shards of glass were involved).
And I was working on the computer when I suddenly heard screams coming from the bathroom. I went in and found Delia, blood pouring out of her nose, crying and screaming in utter panic. I think that she thought she was bleeding to death. I mopped things up (the wastebasket got filled with gory Kleenexes very quickly) and had Rob consult our family medical book, and we got it under control eventually. But it was just a bad night. And I was up too late and so have too little sleep today (*meep*). Hope today goes better.

Date: 2004-06-17 07:34 am (UTC)Ah, nosebleeds. Boys seem more prone to them, judging from my experience (brothers and myself, and my kids). One of my sons had them often when he was younger--sometimes in the most inconvenient locales. Since Delia has had one, be sure to keep a box of Kleenex in the car and a wad of it in your purse or other carrying bag (you probably already do that; I seemed to always be caught unprepared)--others may follow.
I wish you all a better day today.

Date: 2004-06-17 09:47 am (UTC)Because J is actually the fussiest one in the family, it never seemed fair to have a policy that you eat what the cook makes or go hungry. But now that everyone is old enough, the policy is that you eat what the cook makes or make yourself something.
