May I draw your attention to an excellent resource for writers, particularly women writers writing SF/Fantasy/Horror, on the web: Broad Sheet, which is put out by Broad Universe. I know many people, including quite a few famous professional writers and editors, involved with this venture. Check out the links page and the articles, and note that you can subscribe to their broaduniverse Yahoo group, too. I particularly point out the articles "The Writerly Art of Critiquing En Masse: A Guide to Finding, Running, and Surviving Writers Groups," by Lyda Morehouse ([livejournal.com profile] iscaris, take note!) and "Setting Goals and Planning A Writing Career: A Worksheet," by Leslie What. [livejournal.com profile] heidi8, you might want to take a look at the events page, and see if a Broad Universe presence might be a good fit at Nimbus 2003.

Cheers,
Peg

All I've done today is to touch base with the architect I know. He says he'll try to hook me up with a woman architect in his office. Her father was the structural engineer who built the ice palace; hopefully, if she agrees to meet with me, that would help in approaching him. Doug will get back to me.

Other than that, I didn't write today because I was busy doing Life Maintenance things, and I can't help thinking, if that's what I was doing all day, why is my house still such a mess? Aargh.

Oh . . . but I did order another copy of that book, Icy Pleasures, about the St. Paul Winter Carnival (the one that Alphacraze, phooey on them, supposedly shipped to me which I never received--I cancelled the credit card charge). So that's one more thing checked off my list.
