We had dinner last night at [livejournal.com profile] jeanineers and [livejournal.com profile] woadwarrior's lovely home, and [livejournal.com profile] weaselmom and [livejournal.com profile] smirkingone joined us. [livejournal.com profile] corwynofamber joined us after dinner was over. I was sorry that [livejournal.com profile] prncsmoonbeam and [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage couldn't join us too, but they unfortunately had other previous plans. Much joking and laughter over the table and afterwards when we convened out in the living room. It was wonderful to meet for the first time these people who have been on my friends list for quite awhile.

Today, we drove to Hot Dish (oatmeal served over lemon curd? Who knew? But delicious!) and then went to work off all those carbohydrates with another hour at the the gym. As Kij warned me, the second day is always tougher, and my arm strength gave out much more quickly. I still managed a couple of VB routes--the first took me two attempts and the second four or five. I was frustrated by my limitations; I would have liked to have climbed longer.

We are now home and duly showered and therefore less likely to horrify passersby. After a pot of silver assam tea, we will probably mosey on down to the Ballard Farmer's Market.

I have finished Naomi Novik's His Majesty's Dragon and it is only by exerting severe self-control that I am not diving into the second volume.

I told Kij I keep hearing Eloise's voice in my head (like in Eloise in Paris, the way she says, "There are several hotels in Paris.") Only she is saying, "There are several bicyclists in Seattle."

I want to go climbing again, damn it. This, of course, is madness. I would fall off the wall on the third handhold if I tried.

We ate picnic-style for dinner and finished off the last of the truffle honey I gave Kij the last time we got together.

I have played the evil seducer and discovered that Kij's cat, Hestia, likes brie cheese. She is licking her chops even now.

Also visited: the topiary dinosaurs (no picture). We had fun looking in the various shop windows, although they were closed for business by the time we came by. Pity. I would have liked to have tried on the dress in the window of one shop.
