Words: 150. very short, because Rob and I hold our money meetings on Monday nights
Mood: Better. This was on the farmer's market scene; thanks for your suggestions, people. I think I will take [livejournal.com profile] naomikritzer's suggestion that Jack might charm Ingrid by quickly folding an origami animal for her. That works with one of the few things I know about Jack, as a winter magic practitioner--besides being an architect, he's a forms-shaper, a sculpter. He carves soap, ice, whatever is handy.

At one point in the book, he will make a snowman to watch over Solveig while she sleeps to protect her.

heh. improv origami is a local specialty, too, actually -- my acquaintence Marc Gutman has the unusual and remarkable talent of being able to do extemporaneous comedic origami. I've seen him perform with the renowned Scrimshaw Brothers in their iconic (and now sadly finished) Look Ma, No Pants! shows. If you ever need someone to suddenly invent a way to represent the bastard lovechild of Princess Amadelia and a Bantha in folded paper, he's your man.

Definitely a local delicacy.

I do like hearing about the ideas you come up with, as they all seem like they add to the story, and that it's getting more and more fleshed out with every added detail.

Got a question for you, though: since it seems to me that plotting and getting the story made up is a really hard part of the process for you (and impossible for me, so I admire and envy your perseverence, i>and your imagination), what's the part that you're good at? Feel free to preen a little and tell us what parts of your writerliness you like and are good at.

That's an excellent question, and one I will have to think about for awhile. I will try to get back to you on it.

I hope it doesn't feel intimidating to ponder. I have an entire mental list of possible answers.

K. [and I'll bet my list is puny compared to what others might say]

You have a marvelous imagination. It's really interesting to see these bits of story-ideas as you resolve them - thank you. :)

At the thought of that snowman, I have this terrible urge to go "Awwwwww...." It is vastly disturbing.

Good show! *grins*
