I refer you again to wicked_wish's journal, this time to read this post on why she's un-American. I do enjoy reading Cherie's posts on my friends page.
Chattanooga wasn't as interesting when we lived there for ten years. Of course we left just before the downtown was transformed by the aquarium. I recall when there was a vocational high school in the downtown and at least one city council member had a fit over the proposal to build condominiums in the downtown. He claimed that there was enough low rent housing in the area (Condo-minimum - minimum - low rent). Someone just have told him what the word really meant as he was happy to endorse them a few days later.
Is it still big news when a mocking bird attacks people near the court house? I saw a piece on Chattanooga on the Food network and didn't recognize the place.
We came from Northern New York and 1980's Tennessee was quite a change.
I can believe it. And I haven't heard about any mockingbird attacks, but I got beaned by one last year around this time when I walked underneath its nest and, therefore, apparently, made it furious.
I came here from Tampa, FL about 10 years ago, and that was weird enough.
