Space Camp presentation at Delia's school
May. 22nd, 2006 10:02 pmIn a really wonderful effort to give parents and friends an idea of what our children have been learning at Space Camp, the teachers and chaperones helped the kids assemble a mock up of the Space Shuttle in the school gym, and the kids showed off posters, pictures, quizzes, mock tasks that astronauts might do in space, a PowerPoint presentation, and a mock mission to present to the parents.

That mock space shuttle was really cool. They even rigged with a pulley system overhead so that they could "open the bay doors" on the top of the shuttle.
Here is Delia helping with the set up:

See more pictures of the set up here and the presentation here. All the various images, including the pictures of the kids taking the science classes at Leonardo's Basement in the weeks leading up to Space Camp, can be found here. Major kudos to Andy Peterson, Reach for the Stars' media consultant, who took these and all the other wonderful pictures during the whole experience.
