The girls are ill. They have been complaining of vague unpleasantness all week. This weekend they have been feverish.

I have not been able to read effectively for awhile. Books, anyway. I am, however, restlessly reading tons of fanfiction. Some of which is pretty bad. I am not thinking about writing any more. At all. It is extremely difficult to write an entry in my paper journal.

I have been doing the minimal amount that I can get away with for life maintenance.

On the whole, though, I do not seem to be unhappy.

I do not know what this means.

Another vote for down time :)

A third vote for downtime. Sounds like it's much needed, too.

Sometimes when I'm depressed, I don't actually _feel_ bad, because I am numb. It's an odd feeling, maybe comparable to frostbite before being thawed out.

OTOH, maybe, as others were saying, it's downtime -- hibernation, lying fallow. Which can sometimes _look_ like depression, but they are different.

I wonder if there's some kind of low-grade bug going around, or maybe a combination of the constantly changing weather and allergies. R has been complaining of not feeling well on and off since Thursday, and I've had some allergy-type stuff plus intermittent headaches. I'm ready for it to stop, whatever it is.

*hugs* I've been there too. For me, it usually means I'm slipping into a mild depression, even though I don't feel "unhappy." I just feel listless. Take care of yourself, and give yourself permission to not do things for awhile. I'm hoping you're just fighting off a cold and this will pass in a few days. Get better!

I view it as taking care of yourself. If that's what you need at the moment, and you feel at peace in doing so, then I say it's a good thing.

"...I am, however, restlessly reading tons of fanfiction. Some of which is pretty bad."

I'm a little loath (didn't eat enough "loath-grow" when I was a kid) to mention this, but I've got a couple BBM fan/fics posted... somewhere... If you're interested I can get the links for you (he said nervously, tying his hat into a knot as he talked to the big, famous writer*)

Arrrr.
