Now that I am getting to know and enjoy my shiny new iPod, I have started enjoying podcasts. I have particularly been enjoying PotterCast, put out by the Leaky Cauldron, which I have been downloading for free from iTunes. I've listened to one or two of the Mugglecast podcasts from Mugglenet, but I haven't enjoyed it quite as much. Is there any as good as PotterCast for Lord of the Rings fans?

Date: 2006-09-01 03:50 pm (UTC)Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me! is awesome, but I've been wondering whether they're becoming cruder and less clever than a few years ago with the live audiences, or whether it's just my imagination.
Langsam Gesprochene Nachrichten is the 10 o'clock news from Deutsche Welle, but spoken at normal-person rather than newscaster speed, so this rusty German student can actually understand.
NPR puts out a podcast of the Piano Puzzler from Performance Today, which is simply delightful. Bruce Adolphe takes a familiar tune (like This Old Man, or The Streets of Laredo) and rewrites it in the style of a well-known composer (like Bela Bartok or J.S. Bach), and they get a listener on the phone to guess the tune and the composer. Such geeky fun.
I'm driving across multiple states (and radio-less regions) soon to move for my new job, and so I was delighted to discover that I can burn podcasts to cds. I'm currently subscribed to over twenty so I can have many hours of interesting listening material while driving interesting but radio-silent roads.

The other one is called the Meditation Station. http://www.fitdj.com/
I would give you exact podcast links if I could figure out how to do that lol.

And actually in a few hours we should be uploading our fifth episode. Its all adults and actually not really kid friendly due to my filthy mouth, but we talk about all the interesting things going on in the Potterverse, and we've had some really cool interviews. In the new episode we interviewed Makani, a really wonderful FanArtist, and we also had a really cool conversation about snake mythology. So.. i humbly invite you to check us out. :)
