Rob had a phone interview with the legal publisher Thomson-West (perhaps you have heard of Westlaw) that went well. It sounds as though they'll be setting up a second interview for him.

I am trying to not get my hopes up too high but . . . yeah. A good job, real soon now, would be very welcome.

It's a good company which is on the Working Mother's list of 100 Best Companies to work for, so family friendly. They staff around the clock, 24/7, and the new people on the totem pole get the bottom pick of hours. But on the plus side, you know your schedule two months in advance (as opposed to only a week in advance, as it was at his old job) and you only work three weekend days every two months, and never two in the same weekend. A definite improvement.

And I hope they don't have Thanksgiving Day sales.

My company's on that list, too! Working in a place that understands, on a corporate level, that your network of obligations goes further than the office walls is absolutely priceless--I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and Rob.
