Wizard Rock

Just about the best thing I brought home from Lumos were the CDs I picked up at the Wizard rock concert: three CDs from the group Harry and the Potters (website here, MySpace here, song lyrics here), one from The Remus Lupins (website here, MySpace here), and one from Draco and the Malfoys (website here, MySpace here, lyrics here).

The girls ADORE them. A huge hit. Not the best rock groups you've ever heard, but they're having a ton of fun. Lyrics are amusing, too.

I just clicked on the Remus Lupins and got a good smile from it. Makes me wish I'd been at Lumos. Did they (he?) play, too? I see he's scheduled to be in my end of the world in September. Kinda. Two hours south, but that's close for here.

Yes, he did play for about an hour. It was podcast; you can hear it by downloading the Leaky Mug podcast done at Lumos from iTunes. He was having trouble with the sound system, but he made up for it with sheer enthusiasm.

Rachel and Ben both love their concert T-shirts. Rachel wore hers yesterday to go to Harry, Carrie & Garp, along with her Gryffindor scarf (Yes! She wore it despite yesterday's high temps!) and she was photographed by someone from Mugglenet. We'll have to see whether it's online tomorrow. They've both downloaded some music from wizarding bands where the bands havee put a few songs on their websites, but I figure the kids will be able to buy CDs at the concert we're going to here in a couple of weeks. (I had limited space to carry stuff home!)

Like the icon? It's pretty funny how doing an image Google on "Dumbledore" inevitably brings up a slew of really cute cat photos!

Very nice! My husband and I were joking about the cat thing; he decided that the answer to "What would Dumbledore do?" (as a cat) was that he would purr, curl up in a circle, and take a nap. Behavior we all could do with emulating a little more. ;)

Ah, yes. I saw Harry and the Potters live at IU (Indiana) in April. They were fun. Definitely.

My friend was going to get the "This Guitar is a Horcrux" (or "My Guitar is a Horcrux", I forget) shirt, but she was woefully short on cash.
