My answers are not about the genre in question; I rarely clink music links from lj.

Me either, especially since I read lj in quiet moments at work.

I didn't respond to your poll because I didn't find exactly what I wanted to say. I skim your wizard rock entries, but when I finally have my iPod, I will go back and reread them and test out the music and find what I like. So...I'm waiting.

I almost always have my speakers turned off, so I hardly ever listen to music on the computer. But I do find your posts kind of interesting--I wonder what it is about the HP fandom in particular that encourages the creation of this music?

I know there's been some LotR inspired music, but it doesn't seem to have taken off the way it did in HP.

I can't listen to music at work, and I'm afraid I mostly read LJ there. Someday I will go back and click on some of the links!

I didn't answer the first and last questions. In the first set of alternatives, I didn't see a response that matches what I usually do: click *if* I have time and *if* it sounds like something I'd enjoy. (The having time part is the hardest, and means I can't say that I "usually" click.) I also know of some of the bands from other sources, so that influences whether or not I'd click (I may have already sampled them).

For the last question, the band that I've discovered through your entries that I like the best, the Curse Breakers, isn't listed. But I am glad that you posted about them, because they're fantastic.

I wanted to put the Curse Breakers in the poll, too, but the poll creator wouldn't allow more than fifteen possible answers.

I didn't answer your poll either. I enjoy reading what you have to say. Not only is it a passion of yours, but I have occasionally checked out the songs. I've liked some, found others not so interesting, but I never regretted following through. The only group I really know is Harry and the Potters, from the concert I went to thanks to your post. I've played them on the air.

I haven't listened to many. I think I've gone through and listened to perhaps 4 or 5 of the songs you linked to. Honestly, I didn't hear anything that was even worth listening to once. It was all fanboy drivel with pretty mediocre musicianship. But until you asked I wasn't going to say anything because I'm sure you probably wouldn't like some of the stuff that I listen to either, and I don't believe that my opinion is worth any more than yours. I'm perfectly able to make my own decisions and decide to ignore postings that start with the words "wizard rock".

If I'm reading livejournal I'm either at work (where I can't listen to music) or at home (where, right now, I have a meager internet connection - I don't trust it with media). I'm mildly interested in wizard rock, but I'm not such a big Harry Potter fan. (Although, I did watch - was it John Green? - singing 'Accio Deathly Hallows,' but I don't think that counts.

Wizard Rock Interest Poll

Okay, I really need to set up a LiveJournal account. In the meantime: yes, your posts have inspired me to check out wizard rock. I've downloaded or purchased selected items. My favorite group so far is Ministry of Magic, not only for the fact that singing along with "Escape from Azkaban" while driving the Crosstown/35W construction zone during rush hour really does help keep me sane.

I've heard some wizard rock in the past (Harry and the Potters, live, in Indiana, for free) and wasn't impressed, so I generally just note your entries and click on past. Don't bother filtering them or anything; I sort of like to see what's going on.

Hmmm. I couldn't commit to a button, because while I note with mild interest, I have actually clicked links occasionally. It's not something I'm a huge fan (though not not-a-fan), but I do love all things Potter, I just don't follow Wizard Rock specifically, just at random. Therefore, I enjoy your posts because now and then a particular song title or description catches my attention. Lately I haven't been following links at all, just because of a speaker issue at work.

I'm totally not interested, though whatever floats your boat. But I prefer it if it's a link or behind a cut rather than putting visible in the post on my f-list one of those things that causes Firefox to either a) crash or b) put up a bar telling me to download extra plug-ins, which makes my f-list extremely slow and sometimes wrongly formatted. I don't know what they are, because I can't see them, but they're always to do with Wizard Rock, so my general feeling about it has gone from "Gosh, the things people do" to "Damn, that thing that crashes my browser".

My fault I'm using this browser, wouldn't have said anything if you hadn't asked.

I'm not really stoked on wizard rock; the little bit I've listened to hasn't impressed me. I did click on a link or two, just to check it out, and I went to that Harry and the Potters event at the park last July. Meh. The reason I chose "mildly interested" instead of "not interested" is because I enjoy reading about your enthusiasm for the genre. And I think it's kind of cool that someone else around my age has a quirky interest in something targeted to a much younger audience: It makes me feel better about my "Big Bird in China" and "Big Bird in Japan" DVDs. ;-)

(Now, maybe if someone had a Severus Snape-sympathetic band...? ;-) Which, to be fair, is my main interest in the HP series: how the dynamic between HP and SS was going to play out, and how SS was going to be revealed as a character. The wizarding world and most of the other characters, I can take or leave. But the SS-centric band would still have to have some musical and lyrical depth for me to want to listen to its music on a regular basis.)

Bottom line, from my POV, is: don't stop posting about wizard rock just because a lot of us aren't into wizard rock. We enjoy reading about what interests you!
