At the excellent suggestion of [livejournal.com profile] anam_cara, I plan to bring along supplies and start to try Soulcollaging while on my retreat. My book arrived yesterday, and I need to get some mat cardboard and glue. I have been collecting some magazines, but would like more, and, especially, art cards.

Does anyone local have any (in particular) old National Geographic magazines, art cards or old art books you would be willing to get rid of to donate to the cause? I would be willing to come pick them up this weekend. Leave me a comment if you do. Thanks!

Excellent! Could I swing by sometime to pick them up? (Tonight or tomorrow night? Or the weekend?)

I'm about to go out, but you can text message my cell phone (see my profile page).

Craigslist it!! Mention old greeting cards and flyers too. I bet you'd get quite a response!

I'm kicking myself for not thinking to put something in the mail last week. Had I done it last week, I could have used media mail (uber cheap, and magazines are media) and been certain it would have gotten there on time.

I have a Priority mail envelope stuffed and will drop it in the mail tonight so it goes out first thing... it ~should~ make it by Saturday. Just a few things, but hopefully will add to the variety. I stopped at our library magazine donation bin, and found a lot of random stuff (plus back issues of MS Living that I nabbed for myself!), my favorite two things include an all-things-Scottish catalog (with mini photos of lot of artwork) and a Cambridge alumni magazine.

Thank you kindly! Even if I don't get it before I leave on retreat, that's okay; I'm not going to make my whole soulcollage deck in the four days that I'm gone, after all! It will be good to have more materials to check after I get back into town, if it doesn't arrive before I leave.

I really appreciate your doing this for me. I've really become excited about the entire project after looking through the book.

I'll do some checking - [livejournal.com profile] iraunink's parents are cleaning out their house (in prep for moving to senior housing), and they might have something.

Amusing aside - I initially read the title as "Soulcaging" - which would be a very different activity indeed!

Results of checking - any such items have either disappeared years ago, or already been claimed.
