I know that saucepan :). I love revere ware. When my parents divested themselves of most of theirs, I took it :).

And here I was wondering whether it was appropriate to comment with "I know that mixing bowl :)" Actually, I probably do know that saucepan, too. Looks very similar to my grandmother's saucepans. My mother has the mixing bowl.

And Peg, thank you for the picture of the McPhail window! I've been wondering what those rubber chickens looked like.

It didn't even occur to me that it might not be appropriate. I was so surprised to see someone else who has revere ware that the surprise won out.

Everyone seems to like all-clad and all that super heavy stuff, but I still prefer my revere ware :).

We have Revere Ware saucepans in three sizes, kettles in two sizes, and skillets in four sizes!

I have Revere Ware thanks to an uncle who gave me a set when I moved into my first apartment. It hasn't given me any reason to want to replace it in the interveneing two decades.

In fact I really wish I could buy another set - I live in Taiwan in a furnished apartment (but one that doesn't provide pans or dishes). Having spent last year in a furnished apartment in the Netherlands that *did* provide those, we didn't bring our pots along, and I haven't found any sets for that quality at a reasonable price. (Ikea has reasonable things - wish I'd realized that before spending too much elsewhere.)

I have that saucepot too, it was my husband's grandmother's, I think.

The all too common sight in your kitchen makes me feel a little better about my own all too common kitchen mess.

Don't know what you saw, or if you were just passing by, but Miss Pettigrew was a delight.

Beautiful flowers! And an excellent perspective on the lights in the hall.

I posted my day as well!

I just killed the all-too-common sight of my own dishpile, but it made me cranky to do it. Can't imagine how frustrated with it you must be.

Do we get to answer the Rubber Chicken sign? :D (My response: "Because they usually flop.")

You took some really artistic photos today - nice angles, colors, lighting, etc. And wow, that's a glorious flowering bush.

My dishes are currently under control, but in yesterday and today's photos on my journal, you can see the common states of my kitchen and coffee tables. :P

The angled perspective on the corridor lights is something I picked up from Matt Logelin's blog. He's a really artistic photographer, and he takes quite a few of his photographs at a sideways kilter like that, or unexpectedly high or low, particularly when he's doing detail photographs in restaurants. I liked the effect, so decided to try it, and I'm quite pleased with the result. I think I'll experiment with it some more.

And oddly enough, we never got her response on that rubber chicken riddle. Maybe she was happy with our answers, but I think she may have been out of town. Anyway, that riddle has been up for at least a couple of weeks.

that kitchen photo gave me flashbacks

and a reminder that my Maytag dishwasher is my Favorite Appliance EVAH. He's gotten better but my lovely spouse used to rather let things grow baby flies and mushrooms in the sink before washing dishes (we had standoff once when I went on strike). But we lived for over 10 years in a house that the plumbing was so farked up that adding a dishwasher would have caused more grief than it would have solved.

The lights are very cool too.

I like the way the light hits your break room in the morning. And that's a lovely fireplace at the end.

Don't feel bad about the dishes (well, feeling bad about having to do the dishes is reasonable!)--we have a dishwasher, and still often have dishes piled up. See, someone has to empty the dishwasher, then the dishes have to go into the dishwasher...sigh.

Wow! You've posted plenty of great photos in the past, but these look fantastic and entirely effortless on your part - and they're just quick snaps, right? It's just now really hitting me that you are an awesome photographer! What other mad talents have you been hiding from us???

You know, I've been enjoying these entries so much that I might continue posting a picture or two a day. As for other talents . . . I dunno. Maybe you'll discover them when i do!

I'm glad to see the picture of the bicycle! Here in California, I don't see anyone else loading up their bike when going to work. (Of course, it's mostly skinny guys with dubious personal hygiene, not middle-aged women.) I have a big front basket on mine that carries my purse, a water bottle, my lunch box, and a bag with a change of clothes and book and other stuff I might need during the day.
