Every time my friends list tops another hundred I ask again for another quickie round of introductions. Now that there are more than three four five hundred of you (eek) reading this journal (aside from the lurkers), tell me, please, if you are so inclined: how did you find my journal? Why do you keep reading? (No need to feel obligated if you've answered this before, of course. In fact, no obligation in general. But I am nosily curious, I'll admit.) Thanks.

Hello, Peg. This is Linda Westby formerly from Hope Lutheran Church. I started reading your livejournal because you gave the address in your Christmas newsletter, and have been reading ever since. I enjoy reading about your writing progress, as well as about Fiona and Delia. You were the reason I started my own livejournal in fact. I've also read a few of your friend's journals, and I guess I could use some LJ friends! So feel free to read mine if you want as well as anyone else out there. Warning: it is a college student's livejournal so some of the subjects may not be of interest to you!

What a nice surprise to hear from you, Linda!

You are the only one who can add friends to your own journal; I can't do it for you. A good way to make friends on LJ is to check out some of the communities. I see you mention liking books and poetry; you might find some sympatico friends at [livejournal.com profile] booktards. There are communities on vegetarianism, communities on poetry, communities on just about anything you can imagine. You can meet people and start conversations by commenting on what they've said in a community. Add them to your friends page, and you'll find people will read your journal, add you back and start talking. To add someone to your friends page, go to their user profile page and click on the icon that looks like a head. Then their entries will all appear on your friends page. To find people with common interests, just click on any of your interests that are hyperlinked on your user profile page, and that will show you all the other people (and communities) who have listed that same interest.

Would you like some icons, perhaps? Drop me an e-mail giving me your e-mail address, and I'd be glad to whip some up for you, if you like. (A dragonfly? Anything in particular?)

Anyway, I'm so glad you've started your own LJ, and I hope you find it to be as much fun as I have. It's really a terrific way to meet people.

I am very excited to start meeting people on LJ. I enjoyed the comments I got in regard to the close-minded girl who lives a few doors down from me. It's nice to be able to discuss with others! An icon would be fantastic, I've actually been wanting one but don't know how to make them. A dragonfly would be perfect! Thank you so much.

Give me your e-mail address. If you don't want to post it here publicly, send me an e-mail at peg@pegkerr.com to let me know what it is, and I'll send you some icons and instructions on how to load them.
