Subjects of potential entries I have thought about making, but haven't yet framed:

Ice palace book and why it isn't being written
writing in general
Fiona's new violin
More about Mike Ford
Journalfen (nooooooo, probably not . . .)
Snape
Hermione
Career stuff
Narrowing of vision
Giving up

Things that must be dealt with but I am putting off doing:

Trying to reorganize the girls' room
Cleaning my office
Cleaning the whole house, dammit
Rip out the gardens
Hauling out the light box and starting to sit under it again while eating breakfast

Things that I am doing, without much trouble:

Going to work
Exercising
Keeping within my calorie count. Well, mostly.
Reading junk

I'm glad I'm not the only one with a list of potential entries that I want to write, but they never quite happen...

The things that you are doing? Those are good things. You're doing better than me on the exercising and calorie count front. *cheers for you*

Tell me about your light box. I've been considering that purchase for a couple of years, and am curious whether it's bulky, expensive, worth it, etc.

I got my lightbox through ordering it through the Internet. I can't remember how long ago I bought it, nor can I remember the price. Does it work? Well, frankly, I'm not entirely sure. I was using it last year when I went into one of my deepest depressions ever. But maybe if I hadn't been using the box it would have been even worse.

Anyway, I use it, thinking of it as just one part of my arsenal for handling depression.

In size, it is four inches by thirteen inches by twenty-four inches. It comes in a zippered case, and when I am not using it, it slides in a narrow space between the couch and the wall.

I vote Snape, and violin. Perhaps it will inspire someone to write about snape playing the violin.

Writing lists of things we haven't done always depresses hell out of me. Try not to think too much about all those things. Some are flat impossible, thus not worth fretting over. Some are huge Sisyphean tasks; no matter how hard you try they'll never be finished, so fretting about not finishing them will eat you alive. Cumulatively they're unmanagable, so fretting about them all at once doesn't do you any favors.

But you know all this in your head. You don't need me to repeat it all. I will say -- again and always -- that you are my dearest friend, and I love you, and I long for your happiness.

Your "Things that must be dealt with but I am putting off doing" looks an awful lot like mine.
