I last did this in June of 2005, so it's probably time to do it again:

Gacked mostly verbatim from [livejournal.com profile] nmalfoy: Lurkers out there, yo, today's your day. Whether you're a LJ-lurker or from someplace outside reading this journal, you are the reason this journal isn't locked by default. So, come out and say 'hi' or something. Tell me what you're doing here, how you feel, who you are, whatever. Today's the day to seize and be un-shy for once.

AND tell if you are a regular reader of this journal or just like to drop in when I'm being snarky or whatever. You can tell me what you like and what you don't like about it. It's okay; I'd like to know, and I have pretty thick skin. Well, usually.

Or just drop in to say hi... because it would be nice to know if there's more than the same 8 or 10 people that gets good use out of this journal, you know what I mean?

(And yeah, this means you, too, Mom. Leave a comment. You didn't leave one last time, but I'm still hoping you will!)

I read everything here, and while there's a lot, particularly the more daily-life sort of stuff, on which I rarely have anything to say, I still appreciate it.

Hi, Peg! It's Christina, your friendly lj lurker. :-D I think I've been one of your lurkers ever since I started my livejournal, which was about five years ago. I first friended you ever since you posted your wonderful LOTR Book quotes moodset, which I have used in the past and love very much!

It's just really cool to read about your life, and for a single college girl it is very interesting to read about a mom with a husband and a family.

I also like reading your journal because whether or not you think you are a writer or not, you have a very inviting and wonderful writing style. :-D It is really interesting to read what you write and how you write it. I've always thought it to be really fascinating to read about how a person with very similar interests to me combines what she likes to do with a busy family and work life.

And as a fellow writer I love it when you post author-related links; I've found that you are delightfully more informed about that sort of thing than I am, and I love it when you share the knowledge!

I hope you have a great day, Peg! It's been a pleasure being one of your lurkers!

Hi, Peg!

Daily reader, not first time commentor(er?).

I friended your journal early on in my LJ days because I was told by Lori that you were the one that wrote "The Wild Swans" which I had just read.

Favorite part of your journal: the stories about the girls (even the not-so-good ones).

One of the benefits I get from reading your LJ is an appreciation for what it must have been like for my mother raising her batch of young hellions.

I read your journal pretty much everyday and I found it surfing friends pages via the Harry Potter fandom. I read because I love the authenticity you approach this journal with. It's brave to put your life all out there like you do, the good, bad, and ugly. I really admire that your frankness and how you roll with the good and bad days. It feels a little voyeuristic at times which is part of the reason I seldom speak up, also because it seems you receive plenty of advice/opinions already. Thanks for sharing your beautiful family with the internet at large :)

Hi. :)

I'm a pretty regular reader; you're on my flist (which I hope is okee), so I keep up with all the news every time I drop by for a skim. I don't comment very often, but I always read, and I cheer and hurt for your family's ups and downs as I learn about them.

Who am I? I'm a 33-year-old writer with a distinct penchant for Tolkien, children's and YA lit, and books in general (my library card sees heavy use, and I have one room in my house that's piled over with books). And I enjoy reading your LJ! :)

Hope that answers the question! :)

Hiya Peg -
I first heard of you at CONvergence 2000 (I help run the con) and then I found you on livejournal so I started reading what you were up to. I'm an actress/singer/dancer so I liked reading about other creative endeavors, like your writing. Now, I'm like reading about your daughters (I hope to have a family someday), karate, and your biking to work adventures. Also, my husband worked at CompUSA too, so that was a weird little connection (he landed at the Apple Store after the close downs).
You're on my friends list so you pop up regularly, although I'm so busy that I often just skim lj to feel a bit of connection to the rest of the world.
You are a saint of patience in how you deal with your picky eaters, and your husband's lack of housekeeping. It makes me appreciate my own husband all the more!

I comment on occasion (new username, so I'm trusting the icon to keep me memorable), so don't know if I qualify as a lurker. What I love about your journal is that it provides a small, ever-changing slice of your life, in story form. You don't shie away from the hard stuff. And really, I think I like your "Elinor Dashwoodish" posts the bests, because they're so terse and pent up that they make me dig into the deeper recesses of my own mind and nip at something that's been needling me. Well, provided I have the time to do so.

I am definately a regular reader, but I lurk more than I comment, either cuz there is nothing I can add to a topic or because I'm emmensely busy and have no time to think out an appropriate responce or both...but I do occasionally see you here and there at Karen and Bruce's or at music circles (most recently at Minicon), and we've even spoke a couple times, though I haven't had a chance to say hi to you last couple times...so here's my chance: HI!

Well, I guess my work here now is done...I must get back to practicing...TTFN...

Yes, indeed, I made all the icons myself and designed the mood set. It was a lot of fun, and I really enjoy using them.

hi. regular reader. came for the progress notes on the Ice Palace book, stayed for the family life. and now i work with [livejournal.com profile] kijjohnson.

i like: you put your self-doubt out there. as my husband and i continue to struggle with whether or not to have kids, it's good to read both the good and the bad about family life.

don't like: the way you handle the picky eaters. every post about it drives me mad.

Lurker now for a few months. I find the real life posts interesting (especially the bike struggles), and I like hearing about your girls and how life is going for them.

What can I say? I'm a college student, I don't really have a life. I read LJ to procrastinate (much like I am now - 2 essays due tonight at 9:30 and only one of them is done).

I read your LJ for several reasons: the way you can make what some might think a "routine" day into an interesting post, the stories of What The Girls Did This Time, the thoughts on whatever topics come to hand (LOTR, Harry Potter, etc).

Most of all, though, I read it for what I see as your incredible determination, your persistence, your ability to say "this will not stop me" and push on. If you could somehow bottle that and sell it, you'd be rich. (In money. I think you're already rich in other ways.) I'm trying to take advantage of your posts as a source of (very badly needed at times) inspiration.

I rarely comment, because I rarely feel like I have anything worth adding.

I have been reading this for 3-4 years, I think. Daily. I'm not into scifi (I know, I know GASP!), but I enjoy the stories about your family, friends, how you respond to things. I also enjoy your candidness. You are frank, both with your faults and the faults of those you love. Not many people openly admit the things you do. It's refreshing!

I read more than I comment. But I'm usually out in the audience. I like the way you braid words and images, and see beauty in the small things.

By the way--want anything from Texas..? Now's your chance. Tequila lollipop with a worm in it? Jalapeno jelly? Speak now....
