I last did this in June of 2005, so it's probably time to do it again:

Gacked mostly verbatim from [livejournal.com profile] nmalfoy: Lurkers out there, yo, today's your day. Whether you're a LJ-lurker or from someplace outside reading this journal, you are the reason this journal isn't locked by default. So, come out and say 'hi' or something. Tell me what you're doing here, how you feel, who you are, whatever. Today's the day to seize and be un-shy for once.

AND tell if you are a regular reader of this journal or just like to drop in when I'm being snarky or whatever. You can tell me what you like and what you don't like about it. It's okay; I'd like to know, and I have pretty thick skin. Well, usually.

Or just drop in to say hi... because it would be nice to know if there's more than the same 8 or 10 people that gets good use out of this journal, you know what I mean?

(And yeah, this means you, too, Mom. Leave a comment. You didn't leave one last time, but I'm still hoping you will!)

I'm not sure I'm a lurker, but who cares...

I just got my first alert on lj which was triggered by your post on marriages with a gay rights tag. I managed to set it up back when you were posting on Chris Stewart. (And I must confess, I am still wondering how you're finding him currently. Looking at quotes from his columns gives me shutters to think of him in that job.) After having fallen months behind on lj, I went back through yours looking for more on him. Reading my way back was a delight. Your comments on the girls are a lovely reminder of my own child wrangling days. And thanks to all the photos, at Minicon when I encountered the rowdy gang partying in the elevator, I recognised the ringleader as I stepped over her. We've adored your charming husband since his college days and news of him is always welcome. As a member of the old co-housing cohort, I've been a fan of yours for a long time. The kindness you and Rob offered my father at a difficult time, mattered more than words can say. Although I did not see it personally, I have a vivid image of you dancing over the bridge. It's become my iconic image of you. I'm glad you're part of the community I most value and reading your posts increases my feeling of connection.
