Click here. The picture at the top was taken once years ago when I was in a sort of va-va-va-voom mood at Minicon. The shoulder length hair is what I'm thinking about. Not bad, no?
The five below it are pretty much what I look like now (although the hair is even longer, and I wear smaller glasses):
I think I'm leaning toward something like the shoulder length cut. Just for something different, to see how I like it for a time. Long enough to pull up/back, (and long enough to be still be considered "long") but still a change. And I can always grow it out again if I don't like it.

Me, I'd say go for it. As you say, you can always grow it out again.

Date: 2004-02-28 11:27 am (UTC)The shoulder length hair is a good choice. You can always grow it out. I'd also recommend considering the option of hi-lites if you have(or know of) a good hairstylist that'll work with you on some options. I've changed my hair style various times in the last decade and most new styles have received very good responses. Variation in hair-style has also really helped me feel like I'm keeping a fresh and vital look.
I also think you've got a much more vibrant and alive look without your glasses. You've mentioned you have new and smaller glasses, so it is hard to gauge accurately how you look now with them. Glasses are a big deal in my opinion(I have three different sets, depending on mood, clothes and occasion) and can easily make or break your look. If you're willing to post a more recent pic of you with your new glasses, I'd be happy to give my input. But the glasses in the pics you've shown detract from the beauty of your face(though not so much that you should be self-conscious or anything).
All in all, physical looks are a trivial thing and yet I can be a vain creature, spending too much money on clothes and hair-products. I do think that not feeling good about yourself physically can really do damage to your self-esteem. I also don't think you have much to worry about from the pictures you've posted; you're a good looking lady and I can say that without reservation.
Anyway, I hope you don't mind my comments and criticisms.

Wearing it up helps balance the ovalness too, I think.

Date: 2004-02-28 07:30 pm (UTC)I'm sure the shorter haircut looks adorable. I chopped mine off to the short wedge I wear now some years ago after a lifetime of long hair and it was wonderfully liberating...though I'm desperately in need of a trim now.
