Rush Limbaugh is a Jerk

Rush Limbaugh mocked him, saying that he was faking it. He was speedily informed by Parkinsons experts that he was dead wrong, and was forced to apologize. Then he attacked Michael J. Fox with a different critique: "Michael J. Fox is allowing his illness to be exploited and in the process is shilling for a Democratic politician." Good lord, but that man is a waste of oxygen. (Limbaugh, not Fox. Obviously.)

Hurray for New Jersey!
Except--not quite far enough. The call for equal treatment is welcome, but I hope that by punting it back to the legislature that the court won't be simply inviting the legislature to create a second-class type of marriage.
Still . . . a step forward. Hopefully. And New Jersey, unlike Massachussetts, doesn't have that law with the residency requirement, which might eventually force a test of DOMA before the Supreme Court.

Belt tests this coming Saturday
Oct. 25th, 2006 07:12 pmBoth Fiona and Delia passed their pre-test today, so they will both be testing for their next belts Saturday morning. Fiona will test for brown belt, and Delia for brown stripe. Once a student passes brown belt, they will be addressed by everyone at the dojo with the honorific "Mr." or "Ms."
It was a joy to watch them in class on Monday. I couldn't quite see Delia (their class is quite crowded) but got a good view of Fiona as she pistoned out her side kicks, rock steady. She has a particularly powerful side kick. Gorgeous. I am so proud of them both.
I plan to remind sensei again about getting me trained in on dojo cleaning so I can start my trial month to see if I really want to do this. I am having more doubts, but I will try it for a month.
