You may have remembered doing this before for the LOTR characters. [livejournal.com profile] calliope continues the joke for Harry Potter, here (read other responses in the comments).

Why did the chicken cross the road?

Harry Potter: I DON'T KNOW!!!

Albus Dumbledore: Alas, I am sorry, I cannot tell you why the chicken crossed the road. Perhaps later, when you are older, I will tell you...but put it out of your mind for now.

Cornelius Fudge: It's inconceviable! A chicken crossing the road...it must have been Confunded!

Severus Snape: Because it was a foolish, pigheaded Gryffindor.

Mad-Eye Moody: Because it was practicing CONSTANT VIGILANCE!

Petuina Dursley: It must have been one of those kind of chickens. Not a perfectly normal, respectable chicken!

Sybill Trelawney: I was crystal gazing, and lo, I saw that the chicken would cross the road. And so it did.

Voldemort: That foolish chicken has betrayed me for the last time - Crucio!

Padfoot: Hmm...chicken...

Ron Weasley: I dunno. Ask Hermione, I bet she read it in Hogwarts, A History.

Hermione Granger: I don't know, but give me two minutes in the library and I'll find out.

Draco Malfoy: When my Father finds out about that Mudblood chicken trespassing on Malfoy property...

Padma Patil: Because there was a good-looking rooster from Beauxbatons on the other side, who paid far more attention to her than the rooster on her own side of the road.

Ginny Weasley: Oh, good, I didn't kill them all.

Neville Longbottom: I forgot. What was the question?

Luna Lovegood: t was looking for a Crumple Horned Snorkack.

Sirius Black: Because it was just trying to have a little fun, like James used to do.

Remus Lupin: It was looking for chocolate, which really helps.

Apparently I'm not the only one with a messy desk. Click here to see the slide show.

I find this obscurely comforting.

Thanks to my friend Shari for passing on this information:

For those of you who have or will have all three extended editions of the Lord of the Rings films, there is a special slipcase for all three that you can get for the price of shipping ($3). This is the same slipcase that the recently marketed set of three extended cuts comes with.

It's only available until March 31 or until supplies last. You can order it at lotrdvdbox.com. The site was originally going to go live tomorrow, December 14, but it is up now (possibly because so many copies of the RoTK extended cut were shipped early).

Yes, we are great big geeks, thank you very much.
